**In 2009 THCI is Celebrating 20 years of Health Care Training**

The history of the schools that make up the current Thomas Health Care Institute system can be traced back two decades. Throughout its history, however, one thing has remained constant THCI has offered career-focused education in high-demand technical fields. As career challenges and opportunities are recognized, new programs are developed with the cooperation of industry leaders to meet the needs of our students, graduates and employers.

Elizabeth Thomas founded Thomas Health Care Institute while working at Duke University Medical Center and while raising five children. Having been in the health care field for over 20 years, she foresaw the need to educate others to empower themselves. She created THC which allowed her to serve as an entrepreneur and missionary.

Elizabeth Thomas has since completed her journey here on earth, but leaves behind, a legacy with more health care programs being offered at THC Institutions developing all over the United States.
